Air 50 Intel Reports and the term Vector

I am wondering about the term Vector in Air 50 Intel Reports. e.g. Controlled by Foreness CHL told to climb to Angels 25 and patrol on vector of 110. Does that mean ESE or a vector based on their then current position and flying direction which might be anywhere?

Many thanks for an insight into this, regards, Howard

Climb to 25000 feet and then a course of 110 to hopefully intercept?
