Major Dean Ivan Lamb USAAF
Good afternoon
does anybody have information on this well known mercenary pilot Dean Ivan Lamb who died in 1955 at Tucson Arizona hotel room, he was Lt. Col. in the USAF and had a open pass to the officer mess at Davis-Mothan Air Base signed 30 September 1955. In one account he is reported to have served in the CBI until 1944 when he returned to the USA and got into legal problems, and it appears he managed to get back into the USAF after that issue, before he retired based on newspaper accounts in 1955 with the rank of Lt. Col. any help would be appreciated thanks Santiago |
Re: Major Dean Ivan Lamb USAAF
Santiago,
Information about this man is fragmentary. He did attend USAAF Intelligence school. He was also a listed witness in the Alger Hiss case (1947-1949). See the Henry S. Truman Library. Records of U.S. Attorneys and Marshals: Transcripts of Grand Jury Testimony in the Alger Hiss Case - Record Group 118. There is a note that some portion of the testimony was lost and another portion was withheld from release. Ed |
Re: Major Dean Ivan Lamb USAAF
You have no doubt seen this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dean_Ivan_Lamb (but it is for the rest of us). Some interesting links in the footnotes. Some of the footnote links don't work but you can still find some of them in the Internet Archives, e.g. https://web.archive.org/web/20131224...m/elambdea.htm |
