A Dutch newspaper of 29 June 1937 reports that three training a/c had collided over Hamburg-Fuhlsbüttel airfield and had crashed with all three pilots killed.

Another Dutch newspaper adds that the three a/c were training for an aerobatics demonstration.

The grave marker shown is in the Ohlsdorf Cemetery located in Hamburg, Germany.

For June 1937 there is only one collision with several aircraft mentioned in the reports.
Totally 4 Fw 44 were involved: D-EMBA, D-EFPO, D-EBRU and another one with no registration given. Cause is collision in the air during formation flying (Kettenflug). 3 were dead, the 4th survived severe wounded. Regards Dirk |
