Re: Place of crash B-24 (Hungary)
Fenix, it's an old story. Locals still remember the plane, parts still exist at nearby houses, relatives of some crewmembers already visited the site years ago. Story well researched. More here:

Re: Place of crash B-24 (Hungary)
tranlation by Google:
the history of US bombers September 22, 2012 Nándor Mohos, a flight researcher, visited during the summer, because on 1944 he had been forced to rescue an American bomber, landing plane on Tisza. One of the lieutenant's family would like to togatni. History: Sándor Hollósy in 1998 is the local history group in Tiszasasi one of the members visited him with this story. Nándor Mohos discovered that this machine was one of the researcher's work B-24 G "Liberator" type bomber aircraft, serial number: 42- 78345,456 Bombing Group 747. Flying in a bombing squadron. Baron Lieutenant is the pilot. The bombing officer: Lieutenant Alfred T. Knies, his chest would like to visit the place where the forced landing occurred the place is Kásahalom. During my research, I found Árpád Kőrösi, who can still tell then the plane landed on their land. Unfortunately, many people do not remember this forced flight, it was a big interest in the machine, only heavier pieces remained on the spot. It is still today some things from the machine at Áron Kőrösi / father-in-law Endre Lengyel's legacy / eg generator. He handed over this important piece of information to the lieutenant's son, Alfred touching the relic. Lieutenant Alfred T. Knies's remembrances: Our machine during the deployment was bombing an oil refinery in Poland, (then we did not even know the name of the town to be the German name of the city no other than Auschwitz, where one of the notorious concentration camps .) Above the goal, the air defense shot with our 88mm cannons, our machine hit a hit. Both of our two left engines are inoperative, nor did it change. We missed the bond and just hoped that we can fly to the base home, but we had to fly it Alps like 4,500 meters high mountains. After about an hour of flight, two German Me-109 fighters he fell on us. Among other things, our tail rifles have been broken. Not after that we have many choices to leave the bomber. The land was successful. She says about the Denes family who they got help. They saw him with dinner, he did not know what he was eating, but he was very nice. They understood mutating each other. The Hungarians are very friendly people, he did it in his remembrances. "A wonderful end has been the otherwise terrible day." I hereby thank Áron Kőrösi and Nándor Mohos, and I was honored to be involved in this important The We hope that for a couple of hours here they will be happy to remember, they will not forget our little village where the husband, father, grandfather who died in 2006.
