Horst Tietzen in Legion Condor

I'm looking for information with which Bf 109 (code) flies Horst Tietzen in Legion Condor.

I am interested in an emergency landing on August 1, 1938 and September 27, 1938.

Hi Marek

Unfortunately, I doubt that this information is known. The only details that I can add is that both occurred after aerial combat with the first incident taking place in no-man's 12 kilometers northeast of Gandesa and the second incident in a field one kilometer northeast of Gandesa. This based on the information in Condor: The Luftwaffe in Spain 1936-1939 by Lareau. Unfortunately, there is no further information in the Bf 109 lost list about these incidents. Hopefully, others can add more.

Horrido!

Leo

Hi Marek

I looked in the book that I mentioned above and aside of a note in the list of known Bf 109 fighters operated by J 88 stating that it was a Bf 109 E there is nothing more - no unit identification, pilot or fate. The "Holzauge" emblem under the cockpit, however, would indicate it belonged to 1./J 88.

Horrido!

Leo
