72 Squadron - 15 September, 1940.

Can anyone suggest sources on 72 Squadron's operations on 15 September, 1940?

Any first-person accounts by its pilots?

Have checked Alfred Price's book on 15 September, the After the Battle Battle of Britain Than and Now, and Francis K. Mason's Battle of Britain history.

Does anyone have a copy of the 72 Squadron ORB for 15 September 1940?

thanks,
David Isby

A first swift check reveals 72 Squadron ordered off with 92 Sqn to patrol Canterbury at 25,000ft at 11.05 although I cannot yet see reference to any other 72 Sqn action that day.

I will have a further look tomorrow.

72 Sqn up twice on that day: Canterbury 22,000' with 92 Sqn, take off at 10-35 and Dartford 15,000' with 66 Sqn. There are comments from a couple of pilots in 'Swift To Battle Vol 1'; Tom Docherty.
