Information concerning the loss of Feldwebel Josef Schwärzler - killed on a mission to England - 16.08.40?
Hi,
Can anyone provide information on the loss of Feldwebel Josef Schwärzler who was killed on a mission on the 16th August 1940? I am hoping he was involved in missions to England but could not find him in my reference books like The Luftwaffe Crash Archive. There is limited information about him on the prayer card so he might be a novice pilot? Thank you Rick |

Schwärzler mentioned in a Ju-88A-1 (Wnr. 4105) of II./KG 77 crash on 16.8.1940 with two other crew, also KIA. This at the Starnberger See, SW of München/Munich.
His name may be in BoB Then & Now, page 579? Don't have that particular book. Regards, Leendert |
