A very nice photo !!

How do we know the Fw 190 belonged to III./SG 10?

Yellow nose band is specific from Luftflotte4 late war markings
And the only Fw 190 units under Luftflotte4 commands at this time were I./SG 2 and the Stab/I./II./III./ SG 10 |
Good eyes! Confirmed...
...by Tessin that this must be III./SG 10. SG 4 and SG 77 were under LuftFl 6 at this time. According to Tessin, III./SG 10 was located at "Papa". Is that in what was Czechoslovakia?
Strangely, this WNr is listed as an A-9 by Rodieke and confirmed by loss lists. |

Fw 190 A-9 WNr. 205998
This appears to be an Fw 190 A-9 (note the underwing Morane mast). Did the SG units in the area operate A-8s and A-9s?

SG Unit
Yes SG units operated sometimes A version of FW190 .
For example surrender of somes machines of SG2 in Kitzingen on May 8th 1945 , there were a FW190A-6 , and a FW190A-8 . follow this link http://fw190.hobbyvista.com/kitzingen.htm Eric |
