Interior color on Ju52 ambulance?
On a color slide showing an ambulance Ju52, the inside of the open door on the port side is a very light color, close to the white of the red-cross-surround, much lighter than the yellow theatre-band. The interior of the door frame is the same color. I think RLM02 would be darker: what color can that be?
The photo was taken in the summer of 1941 or 1942, unfortunately I haven't figured out how to attach an image to this posting. Richard |
Re: Interior color on Ju52 ambulance?
Interesting. The only potential RLM color I can think of is RLM 67 Weiss, which is an off-white that appeared on the 1936 color chart, never to be seen or mentioned again afterwards, at least to my knowledge. The purpose and formulation of this color appear to be unclear (again, to my knowledge). However, the fact that it was apparently discarded very early on would seem to make it an unlikely candidate for the 1941-42 timeframe you mention.

Ok, so what was the white paint that they used for the national markings?
Please do not tell me it was any old paint they got from the local hardware store It must have had a stores reference/spec Regards Martin |

Seems perhaps just 02, But, there does appear to be lighter color, or not. I'd go 02.
