unidentified B-29 nose art

I am trying to identify a B-29. The photograph shows an American (probably the pilot) and two RAAF pilots standing beside the nose of a B-29. The nose art on the aircraft shows a kangaroo wearing boxing gloves. The two-word title above the kangaroo isn't all in the photograph, but it seems to be "The" and the other word ends in "nger". Any help would be most appreciated. The photograph is not dated but probably 1945. Thanks

Hummm, it'd be nice if you can post the photo. Your description seems to ring a memory of a 3 PRS or recon B-29 with this nose art. I'll look around.

Thanks. I've discovered it is "The Challenger" used in the Marathon project. I am still intrigued by the Australian connection with the kangaroo nose-art.

John,

B-29 "The Challenger" had serial 42-63731.

Here's a story about its involvement in the Marathon Project: http://b-29s-over-korea.com/B-29s-Se...etRecords.html
