Erwin Laskowski photos?
Does anyone have clear photos of RKT Oberfeldwebel Erwin Laskowski???? Laskowski served with JG51/JG11 and EJG1.
The only two I have run across are of poor quality, one coming from Obermaiers book and the other, see attached. Thanks for any suggestions. Cheers Jeremy |
Re: Erwin Laskowski photos?
Not Laskowski, but one of his aircraft - in one of the middle Lw in Focus issues you may remember a photo of an Fw190A-2/3 'white 10' from 1./JG 51. Urbanke says it is WNr. 195 or something like that, but Laskowski, from his logbook, flew 'white 10' with quoted WNr. of 495 from Sept. 42 through early-Jan. of 43. While he also flew other machines as well, this one was generally 'his'.

Re: Erwin Laskowski photos?
Thanks Jim,
That will actually be more helpful and ultimately help in filling out Laskowski's career. Am I correct in assuming this logbook information came from Eric Mombeeks fluchbuch copies? My reason for asking is that I own three of Laskowski's original flight books which I copied for Eric some time back, and with that in mind I am always seeking additional info. on Laskowski. Unfortunately I am missing one of his fluchbuchs which would have dealt primarily with his time in JG11. Thanks again I will hunt down that image. Regards Jeremy |

Re: Erwin Laskowski photos?
Jeremy, What do you have on Laskowski's victories? In going thru Prien's JFV 9/I and 9/II there is his first 10. Then I found nothing until he showed up in 8./JG 11 in JFV 10/III with three B-17 in 1943 with no witnesses.

Re: Erwin Laskowski photos?
Jeremy, On his victory on the 09 Nov 1942 I found the following. From 15:00-15:55 (Moscow) 4 Yak-7 of the 271 IAP were covering the front in the region of Zemtsy station - Lomonosovo station. At 15:30 they observed a He 111 and all of them attacked making 8 passes before it went down in the Ostroluki region. It seems they became to focused on their attack and it ended at 15:40. Yak-7 (#820519) on board #1 St. Lt. Georgiy Dmitrievich Pupov was listed MIA on the rest landing.
1./JG 51 Fw. Erwin Laskowski LaGG-3 (7) 13:40 Pl.Qu. 26182 The "Kracker website didn't have a lot of information that seemed correct. |
Re: Erwin Laskowski photos?
Thanks Nokose
I looked through Laskowski's Flugbucher No.2 and it confirms the Quartermaster entry you noted (listing it as a Lagg-3). Laskowski indicated this as his 7th victory and under type of flight he lists "schutz f. He111". Obviously the fighter protection didn't do a great job of "schutzing" considering the loss of the He111. Any information as to which unit the He111 belonged too?? Jeremy |
Re: Erwin Laskowski photos?
No idea on the He 111 unit shot down or even if it went down. Read to many accounts of escaped at low altitude with severe damage. I'm glad that his log added extra confirmation to the claim.
