Re: Need victory claims info for II./ZG1 later III./ZG76
Evgeny,
I have no info on victory claims by Günther Schmidt in either 5./ZG1 or 8./ZG76. Regards, |
Re: Need victory claims info for II./ZG1 later III./ZG76
What do You have about Lt. Dietrich Weyergang, exept that he was, together with several pilots of III./ZG76, later transferred to 1.(Z)/JG77.
Also, I have found on Luftwaffe on North: 16-04-1941, Bf110 C-4,Zerstörerstaffel 7./ZG 76, Herdla, WNr. 3271, 2N + DR British A/C, 252 Sqn Beau, 28%, Oblt. Hans Kriegel (Kpt) (w), Lan/Sda/ on airfield Herdla |
Re: Need victory claims info for II./ZG1 later III./ZG76
I have noticed in going through Dr. Theo Boiten's 'Nachtjagd War Diaries', Volume 1, that as he lists the claim numbers for many of the early NF guys, the scores start at >1 which indicates earlier Zerstorer claims - a couple have some details of those earlier claims. This includes guys like Lent, Kaldrack, Woltersdorf. This could provide some clues?

Re: Need victory claims info for II./ZG1 later III./ZG76
Kaldrack never was a nightfighter... But is there some details of his early claims - would be interesting!

Ofw. Franz Meissl, flew with III./ZG76> II./SKG210> II./ZG1, and later transferred to 9./ZG26 (??? not sure), and later back to 6./ZG1. KiA on 22.2.1944, had (sourse unknown) 11 victories. What Do You know about this little known pilot during 1940? |

I think You are talking about Bf110C 2N+AN, pictured in "Zerstorer: The Messerschmitt 110 and its Units in 1940" by J.Vasco and P.Cornwell? Page 40. Bf110C, 2N+AN (A black outlined in white), with 7 blank white victory bars. A/c wears early style "green splinter" camou. Page 192. Bf110C, 2N+AN (A black outlined in white), with 6 or 7 blank white victory bars. A/c wears early style "green splinter" camou. WHAT IF 2N+AN IS NOT an aircraft of StaffelKapitan? Now look on this a/c (it is not 1940 period, but anyway:) Fw. Herbert Kutscha flew Bf110E S9+AN during 22.6.41 - at least early 1942 (5./ZG1 leaved Orel-West Fl.Pl. in January 1942, and left crippled S9+AN there), when he got new Bf110 S9+NN (S9+AN was Oblt. Viedebannt's aircraft for summer 1942). You may see tail removing works on photo below. Victory bars are blank white, so we are not sure, what nation were of victims - RAF, Holland AF, or Swiss. |

Larry:
I have here a photo of rear fuselage of Bf110E-2, W.Nr. 4106, wich was shot down on on 24.08.1941 on Eastern Front. It is S9+EM, a 4./SKG210 aircraft. Tally stands at least 6 victoryes, 4 of them looks like roundels above victory bars. That means, pilot claimed them while was in 7./ZG76. Pilot, who flew that aircraft and was killed on 24.8.41 was Lt. Harry Wiesner. I am not sure if it was his personal mount, but... Who knows. |

My mistake, he was just wounded, not killed.
