OSPREY AIRCRAFT OF THE ACES layout: never change a winning team

Good afternoon,

who was responsible for changing the layout of the OSPREY AIRCRAFT OF THE ACES series ?
I think that step was unnecessary and wrong because the old layout was beautiful whereas the new layout is ugly.

Why not contact Osprey via their own forum and ask them?

It seems as if the original poster is already a good customer, so there may not be too great a sacrifice involved.

Good on you Nick. Great forum but sick of these ranting trolls. On to more worthwhile discussion - any book projects underway?

Good morning,

yes, you have to be Gold, Silver or Bronze Member to post there.
Theaerodrome.com and 12oclockhigh.net are enough forums for me at the moment.
However, one of the Osprey forum guys has started a thread about the layout issue already.

Have a nice Friday,

Michael

Osprey are not independent anymore they were bought out in last year or so by an American company Bloomsbury (?) that might have something to do with it.

Good evening Steve,

interesting.
Have you heard that OSPREY has decided to discontinue the publication of WW1 volumes ?:(

Have a nice weekend,

Michael

Bloomsbury is an English company
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloomsbury_Publishing

Bloomsbury acquired Osprey from the previous owners , a venture capital fund. So I’d consider this sale a good sign, as Osprey is now owned by a proper publisher again as opposed to a firm that has no real interest in publishing, just turning a quick and easy profit.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osprey_Publishing
Contains a brief history of Osprey
So in spite of the doomsayers I’d say Osprey is going to be around and publishing for a while yet.
As to discontinuing WW1 publishing I don’t know where you would get that idea. There’s at least two Campaign titles on ww1 this year. Some combat titles a recent fortress title and some general history books. WWI will always be the poor cousin to WW2 when it comes to Osprey but at least it’s something. My main area of interest is the SCW and I’m not holding my breath for any new Osprey title there!

Hello Orwell
so no rumours on a forthcoming Osprey book on POUM militia?:) Would be interesting to compare Homage to Catalonia to a history book on the POUM militia.
