JG102 loss records ? any good books on Eggebeck airfield ?

Hi

Do the losses records of 2/JG102 and 5/JG102 still exist while they were based at Eggebeck airfield September 1944 to April 1945 ?

Is there a book on the History of Eggebeck airfield ?
If so is it any good, does it have much info on 2/JG102 and 5/JG102 ?

I am looking for any info on the loss of a Bf109, pilot wounded(burns) shot down by a 418 Sqn Mosquito on the 6-10-44 and a Ar96, pilot killed, shot down by a 515 Sqn Mosquito on the 8-10-44, both at Eggebeck.

Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
David

Hi David

On 06.10.1944 two losses over Limfjord, both pilots was killed. No loss in Eggebeck. On 08.10.1944 was Feldwebel Heinz Vennemann killed in Eggebeck, possibly your Mosquito kill.

Greetings Christian

I know only about one book on this airfield: "Der Feldflugplatz Eggebek" which was availble at the German Amazon web site last year. I did not buy it why I don't know about the content but look here:

The book "Der Feldflugplatz Eggebek" is the only one I know of. It can be found at Amazon.de.
I do not have it why I can not tell about the content.

Hi Christian

Do you have any more info on Feldwebel Heinz Vennemann I suppose he was with JG102 ?

I had contact with a Christan who was researching NSGr Ju87's over Germany 44/45 are you the same person ?

Cheers

You are welcome David. I hope you will find something of value in the book. I actually have ordered one myself after all. I was orgiginally curious to find out if there was anything more on the Bf 109G now exhibited in Australia, which was photographed at and probably captured at Eggebek. This Bf 109G-6 WNr 163824 is now exhibited at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra, Australia.
