Hi,

i'm currently searching for a friend information about a Luftwaffe member, but we almost have no details.
(Finally it is strange, as i had until now no succes at all with my
research efforts via WASt, Volksbund and DRK about a "Tietze" matching the few given details.)

Name:
Helmut Tietze.
Born 1920 in Breslau.
He was in August 1943 based for a while near munich.
The family was told after war, he died in autumn 1943 in italy.

Any info and details is most appreciated

Thanks a lot for help

Lino

Hi Alain57,

thanks a lot for info. I know this information,
but finally it seems to me, he died "too early".

The Tietze i'm looking for was at least alive until
august 1943. (As there was a possible proove
for his activities/existence nine month later )

Regards

Lino

Exactly, the Helmut Tietze KIA on 26 February 1943 was from JG 2, not form JG 54:

So, there must have been another pilot called Helmut Tietze.

Unfortunately, I can't give you any more detailed information.

I am sorry. It was intended to be a personal message, but I realised it was impossible to add an attachment, so I copied the message rather thoughtlessly and attached the scans (which I have removed by now because they were taking up almost all the the space allowed for attachments).
