Georg Mayr Jg/52 information help please
Hi
Would anyone have any information on Georg Mayer of Jg/52 i know he had 5 victories A Spitfire over Deal 7/5/41 A Spitfire Norbitch Dover 19/5/41 Eastern front victories 22/6/41 26/6/41 3/7/41 He took part in operation Barbarossa after 2 victories he was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd. He was shot down on a low flying attack by ground anti aircraft fire on an assault on Soviet troops at the Northern part of the village Minushi south west of Novgorod Russia. Any other information ie unit, missions, a possible photo of himself and any information on his aircraft that i have recently acquired some relics from, would all help me towards putting together a memorial board in his memory. Aircraft Bf109F-2 werk number 6721 white 5 Thank you in advance for any help given. |
