Interesting Ju 87G-1 Wing Feature

2 Attachment(s)
What are the "knobs" (little domes) projecting forward from the upper surface of the wings (directly above the BK 3.7 cannon underwing racks) on this Ju 87G-1?

I can't find a description/diagram/explanation of those things.

Also, does anyone know the history of this aircraft? (The MG 17s have been removed per the usual practice for a G1, and the landing light has been covered over.)

Thanks!

Bronc

Edit: I just found another photo of a similar, but different knob or dome on a G-1. This one has a flat nose.

They’re where the MG17s used to exit the leading edge of the wing - one set have been blanked off flat, the others have a rounded fairing.

Yep. That's it. I don't know what I was looking at last night, but I was thinking the MG-17 was outboard of that!?

I've found another photo of a G-1 without any MG-17 fairing on the wing.

By the way, what is the big circular hole on the underwing racks located immediately above the BK 3.7 cannons? (See second closeup photo above. The man's hand is resting right next to it.)

All My Best,

Bronc

That is also the same location as the mount for the siren ("Jericho Trumpet"), right?

No;
The siren was located on the upper part of the landing gear strut.
Eduardo.

Ah, of course! Thanks for the clarification Eduardo!
