Information concerning the loss of Uffz. Gottfried Dürmuth - Stuka pilot - killed 29.08.42

Hi,

Jst managed to obtain an sterbebild and portrait of Uffz. Gottfried Dürmuth who was a pilot in a Stuka squadron who was lost on his 50th mission on the 29th August 1942.

On the back of his portrait there is some additional information explaining he was lost on a mission against Stalingrad - his plane went down 56km from the city.

There is a full postcard of information but I am unable to read it - but I wonder if he tried to parachute out of his crashing plane but died trying to do this.

Any help would be appreciated.

Rick
