A silly question RE: Sorties: for LW pilots..

Guys:

I have a silly question RE: the average number of sorties flown by 'average' Jagdwaffe pilots during the following campaigns:

During the Battle for France, how many sorties did the 'average' JW Pilot fly?

During the Battle of Britain, how many sorties did the 'average' JW pilot fly

During the 'holding the ramparts' time after the BoB and before the 8th AF begins operating in strength--same thing;

I began to think about this while I was reading another account of the JW war; one of the pilots was reported to have flown over 300 sorties in the East but while assigned to the Channel front he had flown only about 12 missions in the 6 months he was there...so I became curious; Does anybody know?
By average, I probably mean 'non-Ace/non-formation leaders'--

thanks, ahead of time--I don't even know if this is a measurable;

NickM

Hi, Nick.

This would be quite easy to do. However, access to a material of Flugbücher large enough to do such a job well, is limited to a lucky few...

Also, the number of Feindflüge is what you are after. Typically a fighter pilot flew quite a few non-combat sorties over a given period of time.

Regards,
Andreas
