Fw Eisold, Lost 02.09.1940.

Hi All,
I am seeking any info on a Fw. Eisold, his date of death is given as 02.09.40, in the Eastry area of East Kent.
TIA

Re: Fw Eisold, Lost 02.09.1940.

Hi Joe,

EISOLD was not a member of the crew of the Bf110 that exploded over Eastry on 2.9.1940 although his name was on a card found in the scattered wreckage. This led the authorities to assume he was one of the crew. Not so, he survived the war.

Thus the three graves originally at Eastry and transferred to Cannock in October 1962 contain the jumbled remains of Fw Lorenz BEIL (69024/8) & Obergefr Hans Johann OEHL (69024/19) alone.
