Thanks Snautzer! That shot of Barvenkovo is definitely helpful. Great find as official Luftwaffe aerial photos of Barvenkovo airfield do not seemed to have survived the war.

Location of this airfield is a puzzle. It is possibly a tiny satellite adjacent to Minsk-Machulichi on it's E side. Interesting photo because it show all the airfield's rather meager infrastructure in one shot.

Anyone know exactly where this is?

This may be it. "Hatava is located in Belarus (Minsk) and time zone Europe/Minsk. Places nearby are Machulishchy, Minsk and Malinovka."

Yes, that's what I came up with, too. This may be a case where the German photo caption may be a location name rather than the official name. I have all of the official directories for airfields in Belorussia (Belarus), incl. those of: (1) People's Commissariat - List of Airfields in the Western Military District (in early 1941); (2) NKVD - Airfield Construction in Belorussia in 1941 (excluding Bialoystok oblast'); and, (3) all of the extensive Luftwaffe FHO/Genst.d.Lw. material on airfields in that area. Machulichi appears in all of them, but no Hatava or Katava.
