Loosing valuable websites

I was looking at http://www.ww2.dk/ and wanted to get to Tony Wood's site; gone, and the Wayback Macine appeared to have nothing. Many good sites are disappearing, including Bob Baxters. has anyone backed up any of their info?

If you're looking to download Tony Wood's claims lists, this worked for me just a few minutes ago:

Thanks for the reply. I had found that but can't remember now if that is all that was on Tony Wood's original site.

I believe it is, though others would probably know better than I.

You can go to the Wayback Machine and trigger an archiving operation for a website you would like to preserve. It's not 100% but better than nothing.

https://web.archive.org/save/

Also, if you can afford it, donate some money to them, the service isn't free to create and maintain.

If no one has done it so far, www.gyges.dk would be worth preserving. I don't imagine that the family of the late SES would keep it going forever.

Just ran a save.

Let me know if there are others.

The Wayback Mashine has the Gyges site saved several times.

I have found that if you rely on the automatic saves they sometimes miss out pieces. In general it is quite good, but always worth forcing a save.

All the best
