Me 262 NJG11 Photo Question

Hello,

The following photo has appeared as modern copy several times, but does anybody know if the original is owned by an archive or a private collector?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/WW2-Picture...220?nav=SEARCH

I am trying to get the best copy / scan possible for my long term Me 262 book project.

Thanks,
Roger

Re: Me 262 NJG11 Photo Question

Hello Roger,

Since this Me 262 has British markings, I suggest the Imperial War Museum.

Best,
Ed

Re: Me 262 NJG11 Photo Question

Hello Ed,

Thank you. It may well be, I'll have to check. It may also come from a private collection. There are not so many photos known of this aircraft.

Best regards,

Roger

Personally, I don't think this is an IWM photo, at least it's not one I've seen in any of their main albums.

The photo appears here where it is identified as an RAF photo. Search for: RED 2

Thanks for pointing this out. It's not really clear what he means by 'RAF Photo' though. I can see at least one photo there credited as an 'RAF Photo' which I personally turned up from private sources and passed to Phil Butler to use in 'War Prizes'.

Gents:
I'm certain this is Me 262 A-2a, W.Nr. 112372, ex-JG 7. See Classic Me 262, Vol. 4, pgs 801-803. Looks like this 262 received some minor paint touch-up while in British hands.

Hi
This photograph appears on this page with credits

https://www.maritimequest.com/warshi...ion_page_6.htm

Some of the photos on that Harold A,Skaarup page have erroneous tags such as "RCAF photo". Sometimes it's hard to get the sources right after so long.

One in particular is AM52 at Downsview with man in cockpit and another poking head into fuselage. This photo was taken by Ted Banar ex DHC employee I took a photo of the original when I met Ted years ago. The original was donated to a museum in Toronto.

Regards

I have to agree with Vince; bang on about Harold's use of imagery.
