cne Pierre Aubertin, 602 Squadron 1943-1944.

I saw this in the French site

http://www.ordredelaliberation.fr/fr...ierre-aubertin

"In the Royal Air Force in 1942 he completed a full training cycle at EFTS No. 6 in Sywell from March to June and then at SFTS No. 5 in Cranwell from June to November. Patron of the RAF , Jean Aubertin is assigned to the 61 Operation Training Unit to complete his combat training.

In January 1943, he joined the ranks of the 602 Squadron and received his captain's stripes in March.

His distinguished qualities had him appointed, at the end of 1943, to the command of one of the two squadrons of the 602 squadron .

In mid-July 1944 Captain Aubertin left the 602 for the Air Force General Staff in Great Britain. He then totaled 179 war missions; During 110 dive attacks, he destroyed many ground lenses including several batteries. He also shot down 2 planes and damaged a boat." (English translation).

My own information seems to indicate he did not lead a flight in 602, and according to my bible on French fighter pilots "Les pilotes de chasse francais" by messieurs Listemaan, Tilley and Ehrengardt he had no confirmed claims. However Foremans RAF FC Victory Claims of WW2 does credit him with a probable and a damaged. Also the flight commanders of 602 Squadron would appear to be Ken Charney (who replaced Max Sutherland promoted to the command of 602) and Frank Woolley who replaced Bill Loud.
