Hi I am searching for information about my fathers Luftwaffe record.
I have upload all the photos I inherited from him and would appreciate any information personal, geographically or technical about them.
What are the various ranks shown by his uniform? any info would be much appreciated.
Can anyone recognize the airplane type in photo 73?

The captions on the photos are my fathers own, but they were done many years after the war and may not be precise.

My father
Karl Anton Fritz Popp born 1916 died 1978? in Australia. Born 26 June 1916 Joined Luftwaffe 1935 - 1939 ? JU-88 Pilot. Captured 1945 by Americans handed over to French 12 months incarceration. From these photo's Malvin Brown from the Aircrew remembrance society believes Karl Popp was part of KG77, and that photo 40. overturned aircraft was at Rennes in France

The aircraft in photo 73 is a Bf-110. He's seated in the rear gunners position.
The photo is already identified as "Karl Anton Fritz Popp in Bf-110D"

Photo #39 of the forcr landed Bf 108 definitely shows the '3Z' code that was assigned to KG 77. Nice collection of photos BTW, and nice tribute to your dad.
I wonder if this might be the a record of the incident?

Thank you for your help, do you know wheather pilots worked as gunners, I always remember my father telling me he was a pilot, but of course this photo shows him as a gunner, did they swap their positions around depending on aircraft availability. I remember him telling me he couldn't fly towards the end of the war because of fuel shortages.
