Messerschmitt Bf 109G Production Costs?

I am looking for details on various costs involved in manufacturing the Messerschmitt Bf 109G. Namely, manhours needed and manhours costs, materials costs, general costs related to manufacturing and any additional costs.

Any pointers to published sources would be welcome.

Did you check Budraß Flugzeugindustrie und Luftrüstung in Deutschland 1918-1945?

Not certain, but I thought I came across some extensive cost analysis stats, incl. Bf 109 and Fw 190 production numbers.

Perhaps someone else knows more exactly.

I have Lutz Budraß' book, directly from the Author.
I'll check it in a moment.
Thanks for the hint.

I also checked Vajda's 'German Aircraft Industry and Production', but found no relevant data in it.

Budraß has a lot of data, but it is rather scattered and none that I can remenber on complete aircraft cost or price. I do remember a manhour table for Ju 88, Bf 109 and Fw 190 from 1939 to 1944. Another source is "Arming the Luftwaffe" by Homze. Selling prices for Bf 109s in 1939 are given as follows: BFW-per 100 (74,000 RM), 100-200 (72,000 RM), 200-500 (70,000
RM). There is another line in the table for fully equipped 148,000, 135,000 and 130,000 RM respectively, with an engine cost of 47,000 RM. I suspect that one of the best places to look might be the USSBS, I found some pretty good cost data there for Ju 88s.

Best regards,

Artie Bob

Hi Dénes,
if I remember correctly, there are figures for Bf109-costs for the Erla-Factory stated in "Sachsenflug und Messecharter" (by Peter Kühne and Karsten Stölzel, ISBN 3-928833-41-3. See for example http://www.cvb.de/Verlag/regionalia.html
- scroll down to about two thirds of the page).

Unfortunately I have no access to my copy for the next weeks. Therefore I´m not able to verify wether these are production-costs or prices paid per example. Also I´m not able to give their sources. Perhaps some other member is able to?
This is a nice book on the general aviation history in Leipzig. It only contains about five pages mentioning the Erla-Works rather generally, so it might not be woth the price, if you are interested only in Bf109-related information. Otherwise it´s a nice and interesting book!
Greetings
Ralph

This prices are paid prices with RLM --- the prices were fixed prices per complete example without engine (means "je Zelle").

Best wishes
