3/04 - Bf109s on eBay & two emblems
Hi there,
Not a lot; enough to loose time for a while making speculations on that JFS! 1. http://cgi.ebay.de/Foto-photo-ME-109...item3a64b66d9a 2. http://cgi.ebay.de/LW-Me-109-Flugzeu...item27b9f12d60 Ld.Kdo. 3. http://cgi.ebay.de/Foto-Flugzeug-Fli...item33662e8c89 Mmmmm... ??+MT. look just behind the red(?) fuselage band; we can see a vertical band starting a letter. No solution of course but it's good to notice that Peter van Gogh is giving us - in LEMB Stkz data - a Bf 109B, DC+ML, in JFS 2 and a Bf 109B, DO+MX. Nothing conclusive of course but the beginning of a track. Personnaly I'd like to think that one is a JFS 5 in Wien-Schwechat (or Pandorf). But it's just a personnal guess, no need to follow me we'll stay friends anyway. and emblems, rare enough to point them. 4. http://cgi.ebay.de/PILOT-Kanzel-STAF...item2560f0e3aa 5. http://cgi.ebay.de/Foto-Flugzeug-Dop...item19c4658cb6 Cheers, Franck. |

Hi Don and Franck,
#1 is IMO Stab I.JG1 with Jesau Kreuz (white background) visible. I have seen this plane, standing faultless, ready for combat take off on an airfield where you can see leafless trees in the background, early spring 1940. By this time I.JG1 was still an independent Gruppe under the command of JG 27. Only in early July 1940 I.JG1 was renamed III.JG27 and became part of JG27, still using the unconventinal location of Staffelnumbers and chevrons far in front of the engine cowlings. Cheers Horst |

Don, Horst,
I have no idea at all !! No help at all from either the seller and/or JFV !.. And no other picture of the same accident. Cheers, Franck. |
