III./JG 3 losses Bodenplatte

During Operation Bodenplatte III./JG 3 lost two of his CO's. Lt. Jung and Oblt. von Treuberg. After publishing my book in 2004 I still try to locate the graves of some of the MIA. For this research I am looking for some details of previous injuries of;

Oblt. Eberhard Fischler Graf von Treuberg, born 06.07.1921, St.Kap. 12./JG 3. He is still posted as MIA on 1.1.1945. I know he was wounded on 30.05.1943 with 9./JG 52. Has somebody access to that NVM or could tell me what kind of injuries Oblt. von Treuberg sustained that date?

Lt. Hans-Ulrich Jung, born 27.03.1922, St.Fhr. 10./JG 3. He is listed as buried at Ysselsteyn, Grave Z-6-141. Has anybody information on previous injuries of Lt. Jung? I could not find any loss data during his time with IV./JG 3 and III./JG 3 but I believe he must have been injured before.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

John

Dear John,
I hope it's not too late.
This is what De Zeng and Stankey say about Hans-Ulrich Jung:
JUNG, Hans-Ulrich. (DOB: 27.03.22). (DKG). Summer 1942 with 3./Erg.JGr. Ost. 30.08.42 Lt., 8./JG 3. 14.09.42 Lt., 8./JG 3. 14.10.42 Lt., 8./JG 3. 06.11.42 Lt., 8./JG 3. 02.07.43 Uffz., with 10./JG 3. 11.04.44 Uffz., 10./JG 3. 29.04.44 Fw., 10./JG 3. 08.06.44 Lt., appt Staka 7./JG 3 (to 01.01.45). 01.01.45 Lt., Stafü 10./JG 3 † - Bf 109 G-14 (Black 3 + I) crashed NNW of Helmond/Holland). 20.08.44 Lt., 7./JG 3 unhurt - Bf 109 G-6 collided with another fighter, belly-landed in the area of Dreux. 01.01.45 Lt. in an unspecified JG, awarded the DKG. 01.01.45 KIA -
Bf 109 G-14 (Black 3) shot down by AA fire E of Helmond/Netherlands, crashed NNW of Helmond.
Buried at Ysselsteyn. Credited with at least 10 victories.

He was apparently unhurt when he collided with another fighter and belly-landed. They don't mention that he was wounded.

Having written the definitive book on Bodenplatte, I am sure that John has this info if not more

You are probably right. Maybe I shouldn't have replied to John's post. It was like: "Better late than never, said a suicide, throwing himself in front of a train that had left three hours earlier."

Given what John is asking for, it's not that "definitive".

Well, he asked for it in 2014. I replied faster than I paid attention to the date of his post.

I am not planning any updated version of "Bodenplatte"......just work now and then on several of the MIA Cases. Hopefully we can solve a few in the coming years. My question above is still valid.....:-)
