No. 4 (Continental) Ferry Pilots Pool losses, May/June 1940
Hello all,
Since I don't have access to sources regarding non fatal losses of RAF No. 4 (Continental) Ferry Pilots Pool, I wonder if anyone could help me with information regarding losses where no lives were lost. Until now I found these losses: 12/05/1940: Transfer flights, France. 2 Planes lost, 2 KIA 18/06/1940: Transfer flight to the Middle East. 7 Planes lost, 14 KIA, 1 DOW 19/06/1940: Transfer flight to the Middle East (2). 1 Plane lost, 1 KIA, 1 MIA, 1 DOW? -later MIA Were more a/c lost by this unit in May/June 1940? 12-5-1940: Battle I - L5289 - stalled in circuit and dived into ground, Perpignan killing F/O R.H. Dingle - 39307 - RAF (from Canada), buried Mazargues Cem. Ext., Marseilles, and Hurricane I - P2807 - crashed in a field 16 km N of Aigle (AHB/RAF) killing P/O J.R. Brown - 39370 - RAF (from Australia), buried Villeneuve-St.Georges Old Communal Cem., Seine-et-Oise. Regards, Henk. |
