Cernadova/King Carol I bridge

German sources have their aircraft destroying the Cernodova/King Carol I railway bridge by KG 1 aircraft on 28 Sep 16. Is there anything on the Rumanian side that confirms this? KG 1 also bombed Cernodova on 17,20 and 23 Oct 16 Does anyone know if they did any more damage? The reason why is in the book "Prelude to Blitzkrieg" it has the bridge still standing when Central Powers troops reached it and the Rumanians blowing at least part of it up.
I have read the book "From Barbarosa to Odessa Vol 2 which mentions the VVS damaging this bridge on 10 Aug 41 with a 250 kg bomb hit. In WW I the German bombers could carry a 300 kg bomb but mostly used 50 and 100 kg bombs. Having read account of all the problems bombers had on destroying bridges during WW II I have my doubts the Germans could have done this in WW I. This is why I am posting this question here.

Re: Cernadova/King Carol I bridge

Hi James, from what I can gather the order to sabotage the bridge was given to the romanian army on the 10th October 1916, can't find the exact date when it was successfully damaged, but it was clearly not done through aerial bombing.
