hi there Gang,

We have again on offer currently two new photos of this Erla built Bf 109 G-14:three other photos of "Schwarze 11" from an unknown 2./JG were already offered on eBay 24 April 2021. Any ideas as to which unit it belonged and where it was found ?

Today we have, thanks to Sidney, a small grouping of four photos taken at Fl.Pl. Orvieto between January and February 1944.

Bf 109 G-6/R6 "Weisse 7"has the Rüstungszustand current from late 1943 onwards with short antenna mast and D/F loop, a standard by 1944.
Fl.Pl. Orvieto is known to have hosted III./JG 53 between 24 January and 22 February 1944. Together with "Weisse 19" seen in th distance on the first photo with its BR 21 pod underwing, we have 7./JG 53 machines whilst being stationed at Fl.Pl. Orvieto, January-February 1944.

Hi there Gang,

A new photo for Bf 109 G-6/AS W.Nr. 412 283 "SQ+RO" "Gelbe 4", possibly from 11./JG 26, photographed at Brüssel-Evere after 10 October 1944. With all my thanks to Mato Lion for correctly identifying the location.

Bundesarchiv proceeds loading up new photos on their numerical platform.

Though the captions flatly state those photos are dated in 1942 on the Don Front, those four photos, taken by PK Reimers somewhere on the Eastern Front, do show two Bf 109 G-6.

"Schwarze 15" sports already an Erla Haube: the whole sequence can't be taken earlier then November 1943. As evidenced by the Summer clothing of the ground crew, date is certainly Summer 1944. No clue for the unit nor location: the tell-tale yellow rear fuselage band is amiss on both machines.

The type of tactical markings could indicate a NAGr. unit; NAGr. 5 or 15, for instance, did not always carry the yellow rear fuselage band, as evidenced by Bf 109 G-8 W.Nr. 201 143 "Schwarze 2",piloted by Olt. Leibnitz, from 2./NAGr. 5, which belly landed its plane at Nyker, Bornholm, on 9 May 1945.

Following that line of thought, we might have 2./NAGr. 5 or 15 machines. From August 1944 onwards, the former unit was stationed at Riga, the latter at Piastow and Naglowice.

Any confirmation/infirmation most welcome.

Cheers
Marc

Bonjour,
The buildings behind this plane are in Alger (Algiers).
The exact spot is called "le Forum" where was the main office of the "Gouvernement général".
Bonne journée.
