Ed,

Many thanks. You have found the culprit at last..........the German who cuts the serial numbers from RAF aircraft making it impossible for us to identify them !

This is Blenheim V5595 YH-P of 21 Squadron, lost on 18 July 1941. Shot down by ship's flak off Gravelines. Years ago there was another EBay image of this wreck showing the serial number before it was cut out.
See also 'RAF Bomber Command Losses 1941' by Bill Chorley.

Regards,

Martin Gleeson.

Can't help you with much Faenor, but photo is sold reversed.
No serial number is visible (to me at least), but the code of the aircraft must be either RE-Z or RF-Z, ie 229 Sq or 303 Sq.

Cheers

Hi,

With the top of the fin crumpled drift, my 2 euros that's the RE-Z, V6704 of B. Mc Hardy (229 sqdn) who overturned with its Hurricane on October 26, 1940.

Old ebay photos showed this a/c just after the crash and the English pilot POW by German soldiers

Come on Stig. One must get part of the enemy's pelt to hang on the wall, or tent.

That Blenheim with the name “Nicki” on it is interesting don’t see much early “fuselage art”
