Nikolaus von Siegert - New book in Brasil, Luftwaffe pilot.

It has been noticed the release of Nikolaus von Siegert´s book "Ecos de uma Vida". Pre order sales being posted at Brazilian forum Webkits:
http://webkits.infopop.cc/eve/ubb.x?...2616#207102616

Please note the book is in Portuguese only. It was translated from the German edition. Nikolaus is living in Brasil.

Bellow is an image from the cover, the eagle means another book being released by Adler Editora.

A correction from my posting above

Mr. Siegert lives in Brasil since 50´s but wrote the text in German. It was then translated to Portuguese so there is not a previous German language edition. Maybe in future some publisher would be interested in the books from Martin Drewes and Nikolaus von Siegert published in Portuguese by Adler Editora... So those books are only for the ones that speak or know Portuguese language. (Drewes book had a very small batch in Germany published by himself, also a collectors item today)

New book in Portuguese

Sergio,

Ok, meu bom amigo, how do I get a copy? I really enjoyed the book by Martin Drewes.

By the way, I'm thinking about going to Rio this year for a week's vacation. If I do, I'll let you know beforehand so we can meet.

Carlos

Duas maneiras de comprar - Two ways to buy...

Carlos,
Se você vier mesmo ao Rio de Janeiro, posso comprar o livro, que será enviado a partir de março deste ano. Se não vier, podemos fazer algum acerto para uma troca. Me informe.

Whether you come to Rio I can buy the book. It will be sent on March. If not we can do some exchange. Just let me know.

Sérgio,

Thanks for the tip! May I ask you what was the Siegert´s unit? Just to know if he is a fighter or bomber pilot.

Thanks and Happy New Year amigo!

Douglas.

He was a figher pilot, Fw 190.

Douglas, just enter the webkits link or enter here to see some information and an extract from his book: http://www.appekits.com.br/Artigo05.htm

The unit is not mentioned but the model in his hand can help...

Re: Nikolaus von Siegert - New book in Brasil, Luftwaffe pilot.

This is what I found in the text on that site: When Siegert was posted to a first-line unit, Erich Hartmann was his superior, and then Siegert flew a mission against B-17s escorted by Spitfires??

Anyone knows which unit Siegert belonged to, and when?

I made a Google search and found this from a now dead site:

"Referências>Perfil: FW-190A-3. FW-190A-3 Nikolaus von Siegert, Evandro Benevides. FW-190 A4/R1. "Amarelo 4" do I Sturmstaffel, II Gruppe"
www.gpfor.com.br/referencias/ fw190a3nikolausvonsiegert.htm

Here's the book cover:

Re: Nikolaus von Siegert - New book in Brasil, Luftwaffe pilot.

Christer,

In the text he mentions the Flying Fortresses and Lancasters. I´ll try a short translation to place here. He not flew under Hartmann´s command. He tells when doing his flying training Hartmann did a visit to his unit so he could talk with him. After war´s end he met Hartmann again when he was training the cadets for the new Luftwaffe. Didn´t Spitifires after Day D flew on escort missions with the bombers ??
Just worth mention that unfortunately Mr. Siegert has passed way few days ago due a long battle against cancer...

I am interested in buying this book mainly because I was reated to him and I never got the chance to read it.
Does anyone know where I can buy this book, and it would be nice if it was in a website that could ship it to the UK
Thanks
