Will it be back??

I wonder will the Army Air Forces forum be back?
It's gone with a week or so.....

Re: Will it be back??

If you go directly to the forum page you just get a service unavailable message, but on the home page is a message saying that the forum is being moved to a new hosting site. There were difficulties with the old hosting site. Moving so many files (particularly all the image files) is taking a while. An earlier message said that there would also be some changes made. As I think it is all being done by one person who also has a "real" job, it is probably just taking a while longer than anticipated.

Update: As of Saturday night (Apr 25) it appears things are almost done. It will take awhile for all the various name servers on the net to "point" to the new location.

All OK this morning the link I gave gives the usual forum site and not the warning notice as earlier ?
Sadly it seems that there may be teething problems still ;(

Re: Will it be back??

It seems this thread never included the closure of this site. The AAF Forum history according to Scott Burris

http://www.armyairforces.com/

As Scott Burris notes at the end of his history the "Heritage League of the Second Air Division" [Acquired] the entire AAF Forum Database. Prior to the AAF Forum closure there were comments by the Heritage League management that if possible the forum might continue at a later date if technical difficulties could be overcome, or that the vast AAF Database would somehow be made available again to the public. As of this posting the Heritage League of the Second Air Division has made ZERO progress publicly toward either of these earlier goals.

Perhaps a paid up member of the Heritage league.org can inform us if it is available to its members ?
