Thunderbolt crash Belgium Sept '44

Is there anyone on this board who knows the exact date of a P-47 crash near Koersel (Beringen) in Belgium.
P-47 belonged to 78 FG and the date is supposed to be 7 or 8 September 1944.
Tia,
paul

There are no MACR reports for the 78th for the two dates you give. However, there are losses for the 6th, 9th and 10th. These may help in your identification:

6/9/1944
MACR 8407 44-19569 78FG 84FS
MACR 8562 42-76486 78FG 83FS (Pilot: George Rich III Prisoner)
MACR 8563 42-76512 78FG 83FS

9/9/1944
MACR 8693 42-76351 78FG 82FS (Pilot: Lt Kenneth L. Moore KIA)

Maj. Quince L Brown. Bristow, OK. 84th Fighter Squadron. P-47D 42-74753 WZ-J "Okie". Maj. Brown was lost on 6 September 1944 in 44-19569 WZ-Z “Okie III” when be bailed out near Schleider having been hit by flak and was subsequently murdered by civilians.
