"Bimmel" Mertens

Forum-
Any info on Hartmann's crew chief Heinrich "Bimmel" Mertens career/life after the war would be of interest.
Would someone please point me in the right direction as to where this information could be found (mags,pubs,etc.). Is he still alive?
