Staffelfuehrer 16/JG300

Hello all,
I am looking for the name of the Staffelfuehrer of 16/JG300 in March - May 1945. I would be very grateful if anyone could provide me with this information. Thank-you for your time in advance.

..strange request.. there are only a handful of named 16. Staffel pilots in Vol II of the JG 300 history as I recall, none specifically assigned as "Staffelfuehrer" that I'm aware of

Hello,
Vol II on JG300, this is one book that it on my shopping list.......I am asking information on this as Peter Janssen militaria have a Wehrpass for sale to a pilot who served with 16/JG300 between March and May 1945. The book has been signed a few times by the Staffelfeuhrer. I cannot read the signature in the book and I was wondering anyone knew the name of the Staffelfuehrer.

interesting item.....thanks for the link - given the few aircraft on strength with 16./JG 300 during April 45 I can't imagine that your pilot did much flying ..I can't read the signature either I'm afraid ..perhaps one name that might fit, Oblt Heinz Förster ..

Re: Staffelfuehrer 16/JG300

Hello,
Thanks for the reply and the name could be the correct one. I know the Staffel was very weak at the time as was the whole Jagdwaffe but I believe that 16/JG300 lost two pilots on 17th april 1945 at a place called Plattling. The pilots names were Karl Eckardt and Kurt Stauch. So the unit must have flown at least one fiendflug in April 1945.
Regards,
Andy

..Eckardt may well have lost his life on the ground..Plattling was strafed by P-51s on 17 April..a number of pilots & ground crew were killed and some twenty IV./JG 300 fighters went up in smoke..

Perhaps from his translation from french to english of the Two Vol JG300 history written by Lorant and Goyat and published by Eagle Editions Ltd. A whole lot of good info in these books Andy...
