G2+OH, missing on 24/4. 1941
Halló,
Is it possible that any of you might have the names of this missing crew of 1.(F)124 reported missing at 24/4. 1941. Production no. 815. The Junkers Production Details refer to the aircraft as missed at Firth of Forth. Other account is that the aircraft was down S-A of Vík, Mýrdal, Iceland. That is some distance from Firth og Forth. In Barry´s book of aircraft I find two aircraft bearing G2+OH, one is a Ju 88 D1 the other a D2. How can that be.? |

Re: G2+OH, missing on 24/4. 1941
Thank you guys,
If the G2+OH, Ju 88 D2 was down at Firth of Forth, then the D1 must have been down prior to that, could that have been the one down S-E of Iceland. The G2+OH, Ju88D1. How was the German system for lost in action and/or missing in action, there is a big difference. I always thought they where missing until confirmed dead. In the G2+OH, Ju88D2 case we have names but not in the G2+OH, Ju88D1. Was it the aircraft missing og crew missing.? Regards gudbrandur. |

Re: G2+OH, missing on 24/4. 1941
Dear Gudbrandur,
Please note that the Ju 88 D-2 preceeded the D-1 in production. Thus, it is most probable that a D-1 would be lost after a D-2. Best Regards, Artie Bob |
Re: G2+OH, missing on 24/4. 1941
Thanks,
From this we have a G2+OH, Ju88D missing on the 31.03.´41. Wnr 792 at Peterhead and a G2+OH Ju88 missing at Firth of Forth on the 24.04.´41. Wnr 815. The names of both crew´s is known, are they all missing or dead.? My info is from Barry´s book on the 1 (F)124, some had more bad luck than others, like the G2+BH, 5 times a change. I have a G2+EH flying about in Norway in late 1944, is that thing on a loss record or was it destroied manualy. Junker, do you have the names of the crew down with Wnr. 0792, a Ju88D. Thank you Regards gudbrandur |
