I know the feeling. I found Volumes one and two on my porch deck in the same box. As always, I reached over and picked it up with one hand. Big mistake, sprained my wrist enough that I had trouble opening the box with a shaking hand to boot. I didn't expect it too be that heavy, true story. Because of my wrist problem it was an effort just leafing through the volumes glancing at the photos, most of which I'd never seen published. If could only keep one book of all the volumes I've purchased over 52 years it would be these two volumes!

keep reading as he is mentioned in July 44 missions as well as Moskito -jagd almost to the last page so he is included.

maybe it's just part of his stealthness

If you look at the pilot index on pages 395-399...on page 398 he has listing for mention on 15 different pages, Vol II there is less of him..4 pages as he had moved on. You will love the book! VOL II is Just as good, with a new cast of pilots moving through JG300!
This book was so well written and researched, I wish the Authors would tackle IV/JG3 in a simmular manner, however time has run out for this as most survivors have passed on. Oh Well.....

Jochen Prien has devoted an entire volume to IV./JG 3 as part of his JG 3 series.

I understand the Prien book is very good, unfortunatly for me and many others it was released in German only, so I can't read it. My problem For sure! or has it ever been translated into English? I have never been able to find it if so....
And Yes, I conversed with Barry Smith about three weeks ago and he is still polishing his work up with plans for release in the next year or two. Sounds to be in depth and new stuff being found causing several re writes.
Now back to JG300. Have you found some of the info on Welter you were looking for Ronnybengt? And what are your impressions so far, I would bet you are deep into the work by now?
Kevin
