Smoke laying Bostons

Hi,

Does anyone know what squadrons operated the smoke laying Bostons over the D-Day beaches?

Alex,

No 88 and No 342 (Free French) were detailed to lay smoke screens.

Hi Leendert,

Thank you for your reply.

Would anyone have the ORBs for these two squadrons? I'm trying to track down a Fly Off Arthur Lee-White. He states he was flying a smoke laying Boston during the D-Day invasion.

Alex,

Perhaps you can contact the 88 Squadron Association? According to the picture gallery of their website, Arthur Lee-Jones is a member ...!

Of course Lee-Jones should be Lee-White.

Hi Leendert,

Thanks for the info. I found the 88 Sqn Assoc site soon after I'd replied to your post. I was hoping someone might have the ORB for 88 Sqn and confirm that Lee-White was a member and the dates on which he joined and left the squadron.

Regards,

Alex
