Ground attack Noordwijk November 15/16 1940
I’m researching air activities around Noordwijk village. It is situated on the Dutch coast, west of Leiden. During the occupation a heavy battery of the German navy was situated to the north of the village. Every now and then the battery and the village were the target of bombs or machine gunfire. Nothing on a large scale however.
Who can tie this incident to a specific allied aircraft? November 15/16 1941 At 20.30 a low flying aircraft shoots up light beacons near Noordwijk village. Acording to sources: 56 Blenheims, Wellingtons and Whitleys raided Luftwaffe bomber airfields in the occupied countries. Dennis |
