Bomb on Noordwijk battery, July 7/8 1941
I’m researching air activities around Noordwijk village. It is situated on the Dutch coast, west of Leiden. During the occupation a heavy battery of the German navy was situated to the north of the village. Every now and then the battery and the village were the target of bombs or machine gunfire. Nothing on a large scale however.
Who can tie this incident to a specific allied aircraft? July 7/8 1941 A single bomb falls on Noordwijk battery. |

Hi Dennis,
Wellington IC, R3166, KX-K, captain F/S Schor of the 311 Czechoslovak Squadron emergency droped bombs over the sea, near Netherlands shore that night, when on a way to Cologne. Regards, Michal |

Hello Michal,
Sounds like a very good candidate. Thank you for this. Dennis |
