Re: 1st Lt Price Roy W 368 FG

from web page: http://www.368thfightergroup.com/368-timeline-w.html

December 18th, 1944 – Despite lousy weather the squadrons were dispatched on urgent missions to help stop the
German advance near Stavelot, 368th flies 7 “volunteer only” missions destroying 32 armored
vehicles and 56 trucks, with many others damaged.
The 396th FS led by Maj Dennis Crisp was commended for destroying 30 tanks at Stavelot.

the sole loss for 368FG that day was according to MACR index
serial 44-20065 P47D MACR 11414

however this page http://www.armyairforces.com/forum/m.../printable.htm
says:
12-18-44 397FS 2Lt. J.L. Conant MACR 11414 P47 44-20065.

and the following: http://perso.orange.fr/p-47.database...e/44-xxxxx.htm
confirms:
44-20065
P-47D-28-RE
368th
397th
D3-?
MACR 11414 - 18/12/44 vers Mechernich (All.) - Pilote : Jack L. Conant - KIA - Combat aérien Fw-190
no further data for any other loss...
or the date is wrong or he was not lost???

Re: 1st Lt Price Roy W 365 FG

Hi Phil,

You're correct by changing the unit of this pilot.
Probably due to the fact that he returned so fast to his unit that no macr was made. The Macr had to be made within 48 hours of the time an aircraft is officially reported missing.

Best regards from the other side of Belgium.

Luc
