Question
I have a very strange question:
After my mother's death I found a wonderful treasure: a handmade diary (a true love story) written by a German soldier. All I can find out is that his name is Peter. The story takes place in Domburg, Middleburg, Vlissingen, etc. in December 1943. I have some pictures of Peter. Is there any way to find out who this man is? Thank you for any hint that could help me find this wonderful man! Esther from Vienna |
Re: Question
Esther
I hope this will help. Are there any pictures of vehicles such as trucks and cars because these may have divisional insignia on them that might point towards Peter's unit. If the pictures are demountable from the diary perhaps the photographer wrote some information on the back? Was Peter in the Luftwaffe, Wehrmacht, Waffen SS or Kriegsmarine? His uniform would tell you this. His uniform would probably reveal his rank, and this would also help you. Regards Chris |
Re: Question
Sorry for my late answer.
I thought that I would be informed as soon as there is an answer to my posting. Yes, I do have pictures. Are you familiar with uniforms? Is it meaningful if I scanned one and sent it to you? - I don't know how to insert it in a posting. Best greetings from Vienna - and thank you for your kind answer, Esther |
