Russian Pilot Baleouts

I don't ever recall hearing about Russian pilots baling out. Were they issued parachutes or did they crash land and hope for the best?

Just take a peek in a book like Stalin's Falcons, about a third of the photos show pilots wearing their parachute (harnass). Don't recall a quote, but I am sure Christer Bergström can give many examples.

Hello
in Finnish combat reports there are numerous instances in which Soviet pilot had bailed out. In fact in Soviet planes pilot protection was important, Soviet Union was one of the first to adopt for example back armour for pilot, before Luftwaffe and RAF, IIRC and definitely before the Finnish AF.
