He111 w.nr 5477

Have two small items (luftsieb – in front of the impeller) from a Jumo211A-1 and both have a tag attached to them.
The first one is from He111H-2 w.nr 5477 with code 1B+DH, wekusta 5. In Schwedtfeger and Selinger’s book ‘Wetterflieger in der Arktis’
and the more recent book ‘Wekusta’ there is a picture of a DH at Longyearbyen, flown by Fw. Rudolf Schütze.

Second one have no positive id, but 5555 could be the w.nr of the plane – most probable also a He111.

Both items was ‘liberated’ after the war from Fl.Pl. Drontheim-Vaernes.
Does anyone have more on the history of these two planes?

Eric
Could the loss report on the 15/2/43 Be a typo for a H, and not a J version? Seems logical that eventually it went to a school after active service, given it survived that long.
H-10, maybe an upgrade to the old H-2..

Thanks a lot for your effort.

Anders

Re: He111 w.nr 5477

Of course, it could be a typo, as well for the Wnr. ! There are many typo and many corrections in these lists.
I have a losse for Wnr. 5485, as a H-2 on 12/03/42, for Wnr. 5487 as a H-10 on 01/02/43...
I m afraid I am not a He 111 Specialist, but there are certainly some on this board.
Excuse me please for my poor English.

Best regards.

Eric
