To add to this (and Steve knows this), this ac was coded 9K+CM and belly landed at Berka at 1150 hrs 5 Aug 40 after taking off from Frankfurt at 1125 hrs. Uffz Robert Ciuraj and crew were uninjured and the ac suffered 30% damage. They were allocated a new 9K+CM at Brandenburg on 8 Aug 40

Thanks very much for looking Ed.
With only 30% damage, surely this bird would have been repaired and re-allocated?
It would have been nice to find out where 6009 ended up.
Regards,
Steve.

There is a report from 12-Aug-40 of that loss due to engine problems. A gear up landing was made near Berka. (BAMA) The aircraft was a A-1 model. No other info.........sorry

Norbert

Re: Junkers 88A W.Nr 6009 KG51

Hi Norbert thanks for the information.
Its shame this a/c doesn't appear again on any loss records in the future,
surely after the accident on 5.8.40 this a/c with 30% dam, would have been repaired and re-issued?
Cuiraj and crew were allocated a new 9K+CM at Brandenburg a few days later, as Chris said, the W.Nr is not known for this a/c, does anybody have in their records , a loss for a 9K+CM later in the year or into 1941?
Any information gratefully accepted.

Best regs,
Steve.
