Rowland Thomas Williams RAF fighter pilot
Hi guys
I came across the above-named pilot on the BBC's WW2 People's War webiste, in a piece written by his daughter. Can anyone put flesh on bones please? Rowland Williams - presumably a Mustang pilot - crash-landed in Denmark following combat with a German fighter; apparently, he shot down the German aircraft and a piece of debris damaged his air intake. He crash-landed and was helped by Danes to evade German patrols and finally reached Sweden by fishingboat. No indication of date or unit is given and I can't place the incident. Hopefully, someone will enlighten me, please. Cheers Brian |

Brian,
You can read the full story, including picture of pilot and crashed Mustang on http://www.flensted.eu.com (Link may not work from this forum, so type address) Search under Allied 1944 and then click "Mustang III FZ110 belly landed near Hjallerup 17/5 1944" Regards, Leendert Brugge/Belgium |
