Hi Can any one help with any information on this pilot who flew with 2./J.G.2 I think he may have had a couple of victories during the Battle of Britain but not sure, any help or photos of this man would be greatly appriciated.

Re: Hans-Theodor Griesbach
Steven,
His name shows up on Luftwaffe claims lists in the Battle of France. Credited with a Morane 406 on 14.5.40 near Sedan and on 31.5.40 a (or two?) Leo 451s SW of Amiens. On both occasions he flew with 2./JG 2. Regards, Leendert Brugge/Belgium |
Re: Hans-Theodor Griesbach
Steven,
Your man was brought down on Monday, August 26, 1940, as follows: 2./JG2 Messerschmitt Bf109E-4 (5383). Reported hit by AA fire during escort sortie over Portsmouth but believed shot down by Hurricanes of No. 43 Squadron and probably that claimed by Pilot Officer A. E. A. van den Hove d'Ertsenrijck. Crashed between Woodhouse and New Barn, east of Blendworth 5.25 p.m. Oberlt Hans-Theodor Grisebach baled out and captured unhurt, held at Horndean. Aircraft a write-off.
