Hello,

can anyone help me with info about F/Lt. J D Mcllveen 430Sq RCAF
His plane crashed on 7-11-1944, he flow mustang AL995
He baled out over Us Lines and became POW.
Where came he down en where crashed his plane?

It seems that the aircraft was abandoned near Meijssel. I have no idea were this would be , Holland ?

Michel,

2nd TAF, Vol. 2 gives 6 Nov 1944 for this loss (08.50 a.m, hit by Flak).

Location: SW of Meijel, roughly midway between Venlo and Eindhoven.

This website states that McIlveen was held at Stalag 1 , West compound. Another pilot, F/O James MacIntosh was also held in same area and is Canadian. According to website MacIntosh e-mail is listed as gerimac@telus.net gerimac@telus.net
